I set out in the beginning of this year to create the go-to community for Cincinnati gamers. We’re about half way into 2009 and I’m pleased with our progress, but it could be alot better. I felt that it was proper to give an entire CF update on where we stand now and what we have planned throughout the summer and the rest of the year. Hit the jump to read the State of CinciFrag.

As stated above we will be following the MLG version 6 gametypes and maps for this tournament. Check out all gametype settings and maps here on MLG pro.
Please bring a wired controller if you own one.
All preregistration must be done on CinciFrag Battles. Register your name, join the tournament of your choice and you will be prompted to submit payment via Pay Pal. The first person to sign up will be responsible for the whole payment. (For example if you are playing in the 4v4 you’ll be asked to submit $40). The $5 venue fee must be payed at the door. Pre-registration will end on the 10th. If you do not register you will have to pay $5 extra per tournament you are registering for so PRE-REGISTER NOW!
We are in need of 360s! If you can bring your 360 we will take $5 off of your entry fee per event. If you are interested please contact Josh Engel at josh(at)cincifrag.com or send me a private message on the forums.

CinciBattles is up and is ready for action which means that the online registration for the Halo 3 MLG tournament is online! If you wish to participate in the Halo 3 MLG tournament hosted by CinciFrag and Roxx please stop by CinciBattles and register!
The tournament features a FFA, 2v2, and a 4v4 tournament. Each are $10 to join per person plus a one time venue fee of $5. It’s easy to sign up. All you have to do is have each team member create an account, one of your team joins the tournament and creates a team, and the others join. If you have any problems stop by the forums and let us know how we can help.

Calling all gamers in Cincinnati! This weekend is full of awesome excitement for you whether you are a hardcore gamer or you’re just a laid back gamer that enjoys the company of good people. There are 2 major events including the Roxx lockin and the Dizney LAN tournament! Hit the jump for the details for each event!

CinciFrag and Roxx will be hosting a multi-MLG style tournament featuring a FFA, 2v2, and a 4v4 on May 16th! If you think you have what it takes to be the best Halo 3 player in Southern Ohio come on out and prove it! The event will take place a few weekends before MLG Columbus so gather your team and test your skills against other MLG players over a LAN connection. We all know that LAN is better than Xbox Live for practicing your skills.
The tournament will be organized into three sections. The FFA will start in the morning, the 2v2 will start in the afternoon, and the 4v4 will start in the evening. Each event will offer cash prizes for the top 3 players/teams! The entry fee will be $5 per player plus $10 for each tournament that you will be participating in. (For example if you wanted to participate in all of the tournaments your entry fee would be a total of $35) The cash prize for the winners will depend on the number of participants so the more people you tell the more money you will have a chance of winning.
As stated above we will be following the MLG version 6 gametypes and maps for this tournament. Check out all gametype settings and maps here on MLG pro.
We do not have a start time or registration nailed down yet, this is the initial announcement. Expect a special tournament page with full registration information within the next few days. In the mean time please mark May 16th on your calendar for the best Halo 3 tournament to hit Southern Ohio and tell your friends!!!

Last night the CinciFrag team swept the entire Darklight Laser Web Regionals with a 4-0 record. They came out in the top of all stats to smash their opposition. Good game to all the teams who showed up, especially all of the out of town people. We look forward to meeting you all again. Check out all of the pictures (more are coming) on our Facebook page.

It’s been a few days since my last post and I apologize for that. I have been sick! =( I am back with some exciting news, though. The GameStop in Cincinnati Mills is having a Street Fighter IV Tournament at 2pm on Saturday, February 21st.
So, you are thinking “Bleh, a video game tournament at a mall.” Well, here’s the thing, sign up for it and win and you get a special SFIV headband! Not cool enough? How about entry into Round 2? Win that and proceed to Round 3. Win THAT and GameStop pays to send you to a national competition in California where you have a chance to win a Limited Edition Street Fighter IV Arcade Unit. According to GameStop, they are worth about $15,000.
If you can’t make the tournament but A) Still want a headband and B) still want a shot at one of the 10 (yes, there are only 10 in the United States) Arcade Units, stop into GameStop and drop $5 down on a Pre-Order of Street Fighter 4. You are automatically entered.
Sorry for the cheap GameStop plug! I hope to see everyone interested at the tournament!

This is just a friendly reminder about the upcoming Laser Web laser tag tournament. CinciFrag is proud to sponsor a laser tag tournament of epic proportions at Laser Web in Fairfield! The tournament will take place on Saturday the 28th. Plan on arriving 10-11:30pm for check in and play will begin at 12 midnight.
Teams can range from 6 to 9 people and the cost will be $35 per player if you register and pay before February 13th. (Renting Laser Web out for the night is rather expensive and this is not an official Laser Web sponsored event. People are paying out of their pockets to rent the building.) If you don’t get your payment in by the 13th then expect to pay $40 before the event and $45 if you wait to pay at the door.
There are currently 37 open spots left. Please register and pay on this website.
Rules are house Laser Web Rules with a few exceptions here and there. We will be using Dark Light Tournament Standard rules for the games and one homebrew game. You can find all Dark Light Rules on their website.
Medals and Trophies are definitely in the works Prizes and other prizes are still in the planning stages. As of now food will not be provided, but any extra entry money will be put forward towards food items. Feel free to bring your own. Also remember Laser Web has their own vending machines for drinks and snacks.
If you have any questions hit up Dave Rowe at daverowe11@yahoo.com . And you can also catch any of us at Laser Web regularly.
